We collaborated with the Sha Tin Arts and Culture Promotion Committee (STACC) under the Sha Tin District Office, to produce an original Cantonese musical《咦！望夫石去咗邊？》. This musical focuses on the history of Sha Tin, showcasing the cultural landscape of the past and present of Sha Tin. Through having community performances, we aim to guide the audience to recall their unique district culture through lively song numbers and story plots.
The story revolves around the sudden disappearance of a famous landmark in the Sha Tin area—the Amah Rock! Hours before the Amah Rock vanished, an unlucky photographer, Jett, who received an old film camera from his late grandfather and took photos of the Rock. The flash emitted a bright light, and suddenly, the rock “comes to life” as an ancient woman named Yuen Yuen. This musical takes the audience on a journey between reality and legend, sharing a touching story.
The performance attracted over 800 residents, who enthusiastically engaged with the show and actively interacted with the actors, creating moments filled with laughter and emotion. Many audience members expressed a desire to see a reprise!
