Art Mentor Education Foundation (AMEF) presented a new original Cantonese musial 《咦！望夫石去咗邊？》, with the Sha Tin Arts and Culture Promotion Committee (STACC) under the Sha Tin District Office. This musical focuses on the history and cultural heritage of Sha Tin, recreating the district's past and present through dynamic storytelling, vibrant music, and imaginative stage design. By bringing this musical to the community, we hoped to inspire the audience to reconnect with their local culture and rediscover the stories that shaped their communiy.
The story follows Jett, an unlucky photographer who inherits an old film camera from his grandfather. After capturing photos of the iconic Amah Rock, a sudden storm brings the legend to life — the ancient woman Yuen Yuen appears, blurring the lines between myth and history. This enchanting tale took audiences on an emotional journey filled with humor and wonder.
The performance drew an impressive audience of nearly 800 residents, filling the venue with laughter, warmth, and shared memories. Audience feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing enthusiasm for an encore performance!
