AMEF launched The Strings of Love, which has been going very well in the past six months and we are hoping to continue running this program to benefit more underprivileged children, allowing a chance for them to experience the beauty of music. It was such a meaningful experience for both our charity and we are overjoyed to see children improving their self-confidence while learning to play violin and nurturing interest in the arts. We subsidized students from low-income families to purchase their instruments and provided free violin training. The learning is structured in the form of a violin ensemble, it is envisioned the students will not only obtain personal breakthroughs but also meet new people of diverse backgrounds to practice teamwork and social learning.
By learning new and unique music repertoires, the student is given the opportunity to perform and break self-limits at a young stage, thus empowering self-esteem and confidence after the programme's completion. The project believes an individual’s talent can be aroused through an encouraging and less competitive environment, and the music is not exclusively for celebrated virtuosos; yet, “everyone can perform.”
The project also collaborates with young local semi-professional musicians to create a series of original Art Mentor compositions and music for the program. Students will have their graduation performance to show their achievements by playing original music by Art Mentor in June 2025.
