Butterfly Lovers 浮城蝶夢

As the curtain closes on our original musical production, Butterfly Lovers, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our director, staff members, and dear audiences who made all of this possible. We are pleased to receive the Project Grant and Venue Subsidy Scheme from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. 

AMEF is committed to promoting original musicals and theatre education, hoping to provide more performance opportunities for young people in the performing arts field so they can show their talents, create original and high-quality productions and inject Hong Kong local elements, showing our international and cultural vision.

We are incredibly proud of everyone’s support and involvement in this production. Everyone has a different understanding and imagination towards this love story and the couple Elise and Alvin, maybe you can find yourself in it. Through this journey, the AMEF team hopes everyone can be inspired by this youth love story and be motivated to pursue their dreams.

Synopsis:

Inspired by Chinese legends, "Butterfly Lovers" tells the story of the star-crossed lovers Alvin and Elise. Ten years after their separation, they reunite on a flight to Hong Kong. As they begin to unravel what went wrong between them, past memories and repressed emotions resurface. Will they find a way back to each other or will they forever remain broken apart?
